When I returned back to live with my parents, after being on my own for several years, I started a journey on self-actualization. I created a character that was lost, mistaken about the world, and when they unraveled the harsh truth, they spiraled into a madness created only by themselves. The cross is an image I used to convey the idea of believing in something blindly. The outcome of this was finding oneself deep through self-reflection; a goal that was already forming since the beginning of the search.

I entitled the photo series Scorpion Flower, which is a title song from the group Crispy & Co, aka Lafayette Afro Rock Band. The instrumental energy of that song captures the intensity of “the lost”, “the search”, and “the found”.
